How to add, edit or remove a child

Each child has their own activities, reminders, progress and settings. The free plan includes 1 child of your own; Premium lets you add as many as you need.

Add a child

  1. Tap Add Child on the dashboard. The first time, the button is Add Your First Child. You can also tap the child's name at the top of a child's screen, then Add Child.
  2. Tap the camera circle to add a photo with Camera or Gallery (optional).
  3. Enter the child's Name.
  4. Choose a Gender and set a Birthday (both optional).
  5. Tap Save.

On the free plan, if you already have a child of your own, tapping Add Child opens the upgrade screen. Children in a family member's account that you help with don't count toward this limit.

Switch between children

  1. On a child's screen, tap the child's name at the top.
  2. Tap another child in the list.

To open the same child every time you start the app, go to that child's Settings tab and turn on Set As Default. This is saved on this phone only.

Edit a child

Only the account owner can edit a child.

  1. Open the child, then tap the three dots at the top right.
  2. Tap Edit.
  3. Change the photo, Name, Gender or Birthday.
  4. Tap Save.

You can also ask the assistant to update a name, birthday or gender; see How to use the Potty Whiz Assistant.

Add care notes

Care notes help grandparents, sitters and daycare know your child's routine.

  1. Open the child and go to the Care & Info tab.
  2. Tap Care Notes, then tap Edit.
  3. Type your notes, for example "Likes to go after breakfast".
  4. Tap Save.

Remove a child

Only the account owner can remove a child.

  1. Open the child, then tap the three dots at the top right.
  2. Tap Delete.
  3. The dialog asks, for example, "Remove Emma?" and warns "Associated activities will also be deleted!"
  4. Tap Yes.

The child and all of their activities are removed for everyone on your team.

Troubleshooting

  • "A Name is Required" or "The Name is Not Long Enough": enter a name with at least 2 letters.
  • I don't see the three dots: the child belongs to someone else's account, so only that account's owner can edit or remove them.
  • The upgrade screen opens when I add a second child: the free plan includes 1 child of your own. See What's free and what's premium in Potty Whiz.
