How to use the Potty Whiz Assistant

The Potty Whiz Assistant answers questions about your child's potty training from what you've logged, and can log entries or set up reminders for you.

Open the Assistant

Open your child from the home screen, then use any of these:

  • Tap the round yellow button in the bottom-right corner. It shows on the Activities, Reminders, Insights and Care & Info tabs.
  • If you turned that button off, tap the yellow Ask about card with your child's name at the top of the Insights tab.
  • From Help, tap Ask the Assistant. If you have more than one child, choose one under Which child?.

Each child has their own conversation, and only you can see yours.

What you can ask

Type a question, or tap a suggestion, such as how many times your child used the potty this week, when accidents usually happen, or a request for potty training tips.

It answers from the entries on your phone, including ones that haven't synced yet. It can also share tips from our articles, answer questions about using Potty Whiz, pass your feedback to our team, and give you a link to make a report for the doctor.

Changes it can make

When you ask, it can:

  • Log potty sits, potty visits, accidents, dry checks, habits and custom activities, now or on an earlier day.
  • Change your child's name, birthday or gender (account owner only).
  • Create, change, turn off or delete reminders you created.

Before anything is saved, a Please confirm card shows exactly what will change. Tap Confirm to save it, or Cancel to leave everything as it is.

It can't log drinks, because they need an amount. It also can't edit or delete existing entries, or change timers, photos or settings. Do those in the app.

What you need

  • Premium, either your own or from a family account you joined. Without it, you see a sample conversation and an Upgrade to chat about button with your child's name.
  • To be signed in and online, with your child synced to your account.
  • Up to 50 messages a day.

More options

  • Voice: tap the microphone (Dictate your message) and allow microphone and speech recognition access the first time.
  • Copy or share: press and hold a reply, then tap Copy message or Share.
  • Delete a chat: tap the trash icon at the top, then Yes on Delete this chat?. This permanently clears your conversation about that child.
  • Hide the button: open the side menu with the gear icon, tap Settings and turn off Floating Assistant Button.

The Assistant can get things wrong, so check important numbers on the Progress tab. If it can't help with a question about the app, it offers a link to talk to our team.

Troubleshooting

  • "You've reached today's chat limit. Please try again tomorrow." You can still read your conversation.
  • "Something went wrong. Please try again." Check your internet connection and send your message again.
  • "Nothing was changed. Please try again." Ask again.
  • "Your change was saved, but I couldn't finish replying." The change went through, so don't ask again.
  • "To dictate messages, allow microphone and speech recognition access in your device settings." Allow both for Potty Whiz in your phone's settings.
  • I only see a sample conversation. Sign in and check you have Premium. A child you added before signing in works once it has synced.
