How to add a pet

You can add a pet from the main screen. Doggy Time works for 50 kinds of pets, from dogs and cats to horses, chickens, reptiles, fish and insects. You don't need to sign in to add your first pet.

Add a pet

1. On the main screen, tap + Pet. If you haven't added a pet yet, tap Add Your First Pet instead.
2. On the New Pet screen, tap the round photo at the top to add a picture from your Camera or Gallery. This is optional.
3. Enter your pet's Name.
4. Under Species, choose the kind of pet.
5. Under Breed, tap Select pet breed and choose one or more breeds. If your pet is a mix, select each breed.
6. Choose a Gender, then turn on Neutered? or Spayed? if it applies. These only appear for species where they make sense.
7. Tap Birthday to set the date. This is optional.
8. Tap Save.

Your pet now has its own card on the main screen. Tap the card to start logging. See How to log an activity.

Can't find the breed?

Tap Please let us know below the breed list to ask us to add it. New breeds can take a moment to appear on your phone.

How many pets can I add?

• On the free plan, you can add 1 pet of your own.
• Pets that someone else shares with you don't count toward that limit.
• With Premium, you can add as many pets as you like.

When you reach the limit, tapping + Pet opens the upgrade screen. See What's free and what's in Premium.

Troubleshooting

• "A Name is Required": enter a name before you tap Save.
• "The Name is Not Long Enough": use a longer name.
• "Syncing new pet breeds...": wait a few seconds for the breed list to finish loading.
• The upgrade screen opens when you tap + Pet: you already have a pet on the free plan. Upgrade to add more pets.
