How to track medications and supplements

Keep track of your pet's medications and supplements, set a reminder for each dose, and see when each one was last given. Everything is on the Medications & Supplements card on your pet's Care & Info tab.

Turn on medications or supplements

The card only appears when Medication or Supplement is turned on for your pet.

1. Tap your pet on the main screen.
2. Open the Settings tab.
3. Turn on Medication, Supplement, or both.

Add a medication or supplement

1. Open the Care & Info tab.
2. On the Medications & Supplements card, tap the + button.
3. If both are turned on, choose Medication or Supplement under What would you like to add?.
4. Enter the Name, and the Default Amount, Unit and Frequency if you like.
5. Tap Done.

If you already added a medication with the same name for another pet, the app opens that one instead of making a copy. Its dose applies to every pet that uses it.

Set reminder times

1. Tap the medication on the card.
2. Under Reminder Times, tap Add Time.
3. Choose how often and at what time, then tap Save.
4. Repeat for each dose, for example one time for the morning dose and one for the evening dose.

If the frequency is twice or three times a day, the sheet shows how many times you've set, for example "1 of 2 times set". The reminder names the medication and its dose.

Pause a reminder

1. Tap the medication on the card.
2. Turn off the switch next to a reminder time.

The time is shown as Paused until you turn it back on. You can only pause reminders you created.

Log a dose

1. Tap the medication on the card.
2. Tap Log Dose Now.
3. Check the time, then save the entry.

The card then shows when it was last given, for example "Last given 2 hours ago". If no dose was logged in the last 60 days, it shows Not logged in the last 60 days.

Edit or remove a medication

1. Tap the medication on the card.
2. Tap the pencil icon to change its name, dose or notes.
3. To remove it, tap Delete.

When you remove a medication, its reminder times are deleted too.

Premium

Adding medications and setting reminder times are part of Premium. Without Premium, you can still see the card, and tapping it shows how to upgrade. See What's free and what's in Premium.

Troubleshooting

• I don't see the Medications & Supplements card. Turn on Medication or Supplement in your pet's Settings tab.
• "Remove this item?" This appears when you delete a medication. Its reminder times are deleted with it.
• "Delete this reminder time?" This appears when you delete one reminder time. The medication stays on the card.
• I'm not getting reminders. Check that the reminder time isn't Paused. Also check that notifications for Doggy Time are allowed in your phone's settings. On Android, see New items do not sync or I do not receive reminders or alerts.
