You can ask for a photo before a chore counts as done, so you can check the work.
Photo proof is a premium feature.
Turn on photo proof
You need a profile without Limit Access.
- Create a chore, or open one, tap the three dots at the top right and tap Edit.
- Turn on Photo Required.
- Tap Save.
The chore screen now shows "Photo verification required".
On the free plan, the Photo Required switch is yellow and opens the upgrade screen.
See What's free and what's premium in Chore Boss.
Add a photo (for kids)
- Open the chore from the Home tab.
- Check off the tasks.
- Tap Take Photo.
- Choose Camera to take a new photo, or Gallery to pick one you already took.
Until a photo is added, the chore shows "A photo is required to complete this chore".
The chore is complete, and any reward is added, once all tasks are checked off and a photo is added.
Only photos can be added, not videos.
Anyone who completes a chore can also add a photo when it isn't required.
See the photos
- On the chore: open the chore on the day it was done.
The photos show below the tasks.
- Progress tab: tap By Member, tap the child, then tap an entry to open that chore.
Its activity shows "Added a photo".
- Rewards tab: tap the child, then tap an entry under Recent Activity.
When a photo is added, the other signed-in devices in your home get a notification.
Remove a photo
- Open the chore on the day it was done.
- Tap the three dots on the photo, then tap Delete.
- Confirm Remove Photo?.
A kid with Limit Access can only remove photos they added.
If the chore requires a photo, removing the last one makes the chore incomplete again.
If the photo doesn't show the work was done, you can also flag the task.
See How to flag a task as incomplete.
Troubleshooting
- The upgrade screen opens when you tap Take Photo: adding photos needs premium.
- There's no Take Photo button: the selected member can't complete this chore, for example it's someone else's turn.
See How to complete chores and tasks.
- The camera or gallery doesn't open: allow Chore Boss to use the camera and photos in your phone's settings.
