How to handle overdue chores

When a chore wasn't finished on its due date, it shows in the Overdue section of the Home tab. From there you can complete it late, or a parent can clear it.

Find overdue chores

  1. Open the Home tab on today's date.
  2. Tap Overdue at the top of the list to open it. It shows how many chores are overdue, for example "Overdue (3)". Tap it again to close it.

The section lists chores from the last 3 days that weren't finished. Each one shows when it was due, such as "Yesterday" or "2 days ago". When no member is selected, it also shows who the chore belongs to.

A member who isn't a Household Manager only sees their own overdue chores.

Complete a chore late

  1. Tap the chore in the Overdue section.
  2. Check off the tasks for that day.

The chore leaves the overdue list once it's complete.

Dismiss an overdue chore

If a chore doesn't need doing anymore, a parent can remove it from the list. The X next to each chore shows when a Household Manager profile is selected, or when no member is selected.

  1. Tap the X next to the chore.
  2. Tap Dismiss to confirm.

The chore is hidden from the overdue list for everyone in the home. The next time it's due, it shows as normal.

Rotating chores

A rotating chore only shows as overdue when Hold rotation until complete is on. In that case, the turn stays with the same person until they finish.

To move on, tap the X next to the chore and confirm Skip turn. This passes the turn to the next person and skips the missed days. No reward is given for a skipped turn.

You can also skip a turn from the chore screen with Skip this turn. See How to set up a rotating chore.

Troubleshooting

  • I don't see the Overdue section: it only shows on today's date, and only when something is overdue.
  • There's no X next to overdue chores: select a Household Manager profile from the name at the top of the Home tab.
  • A chore from last week isn't listed: only the last 3 days are shown. To complete an older chore, pick its day on the calendar.
