Kid Hop can add a separate Kid Hop calendar to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook.
It shows the trips you drive, with the kids in your car and where you're going.
It updates by itself when drivers, times or days change, so you don't have to add anything again.
Calendar Sync is part of Kid Hop Premium, and you need to be signed in to use it.
What's in your Kid Hop calendar
- Your drives: one entry for each trip you drive, for example "🚗 Drive Ava, Ben to Soccer" or "🚗 Pick up Ava, Ben from Soccer".
Drop-offs end at the event's start time, and pick-ups start at its end time.
- Your kids' carpool days (optional): one entry for each day your kids ride, with who drives them each way.
You choose which carpools add these, and they're off until you turn them on.
- The calendar covers the last 2 weeks and the next 8 weeks.
- Days that are cancelled in Kid Hop, and trips you no longer drive, disappear from the calendar.
- The calendar has no alerts of its own, because Kid Hop's notifications already remind you.
The Kid Hop calendar is separate from your other calendars, so you can hide it, change its color or remove it at any time.
Add the calendar
- Open the menu and tap Calendar Sync.
You can also open a carpool, tap the ⋮ menu and tap Calendar Sync.
- If you don't have Kid Hop Premium yet, tap Kid Hop Premium to get it.
- Choose your calendar app:
- iPhone and iPad: Tap Subscribe in Apple Calendar, then tap Subscribe in Calendar.
- Google Calendar: Tap Add to Google Calendar, sign in to Google if asked, and tap Add.
- Outlook and other apps: Tap Copy link, then add a calendar subscription in your app and paste the link (it is sometimes called "From URL" or "From internet").
Your calendar shows the Kid Hop calendar within a few minutes.
Show your kids' carpool days
On the Calendar Sync screen, under Show my kids' carpool days, turn on the carpools you want.
Each carpool day then gets one entry that says which of your kids ride and who drives them.
Turn a carpool off to remove its days again.
Reset your link
Your calendar link is private to you.
If you shared it by mistake, tap Reset link on the Calendar Sync screen.
Calendars using the old link stop updating, so add the Kid Hop calendar again with the new link and remove the old one.
Troubleshooting
- Changes take a while to show in Google Calendar: Google Calendar checks subscribed calendars on its own schedule and can take up to a day to show changes.
Apple Calendar usually updates within an hour, and Outlook within a few hours.
Kid Hop notifications still tell you about changes right away.
- "Kid Hop calendar paused - renew Premium to resume": Your Kid Hop Premium has ended.
Renew it from the Calendar Sync screen, and your drives come back with your next calendar refresh.
- "We couldn't load your calendar link. Check your connection and try again.": Kid Hop needs an internet connection to set up the calendar.
Check your connection and tap Retry.
- "We couldn't open your calendar app. Copy the link and add it yourself.": Tap Copy link and add the link as a calendar subscription in your calendar app.
- The calendar stopped updating: If you or someone else tapped Reset link, the old link no longer works.
Add the Kid Hop calendar again from the Calendar Sync screen.
