# How to track your pet's weight

Tap your pet's card, open the Activities tab, tap Weight (or More if you don't see it), enter the weight, choose lbs or kg, then tap Save. Logging a weight is free.

Log your pet's weight whenever you weigh them, then see how it changes on a chart.
Logging a weight is free.

## Log a weight

1. On the main screen, tap your pet's card.
2. On the **Activities** tab, tap **Weight** at the bottom of the screen.
If you don't see it, tap **More**.
3. Type the weight in the box, or tap minus or plus.
If the box is empty, minus or plus starts from the last weight you logged.
4. Under the number, tap **lbs** or **kg**.
5. Tap **Save**.

Tapping **lbs** or **kg** also changes the units for the whole app.
You can change them any time in **Settings** under **Measurement Units**.

## Ask the Assistant to log it

You can also tell the Assistant, for example "He weighed 39.2 lbs at the vet today, log it".
It shows a **Please confirm** card, and nothing is saved until you tap **Confirm**.
It uses the unit you say, or your **Measurement Units** setting if you don't say one.
See [How to use the Assistant](https://www.kidplay.tech/help/how-to-use-the-assistant).

## See your pet's weight over time

1. Tap a weight entry to open it.
2. Tap **Charts**.
3. The **Timeline** tab shows each weight you logged.

You can also open your pet's **Progress** tab, tap **Chart**, then tap **Weight**.

Charts are free.
Choosing your own date range on a chart is part of Premium.

## Estimate a puppy's adult weight

On the charts screen, open the **Weight Calculator** tab.
Enter your puppy's current age and weight to see an estimate of their adult weight.

## Share it with your vet

The PDF report shows your pet's latest weight and how much it changed.
See [How to export your pet's data or share a report with your vet](https://www.kidplay.tech/help/how-to-export-data-or-share-records-with-your-vet).

## Troubleshooting

- **"Measurement Value Is Required"**
Enter a weight before you tap **Save**.
- **I don't see Weight at the bottom of the screen.**
  Tap **More**.
If it isn't there, tap **Settings** in that list and turn on **Weight** for your pet.
- **The weight shows in the wrong units.**
Change **Measurement Units** in **Settings**, or tap **lbs** or **kg** on the entry.
